Education
At Marvin McQuitty Foundation, we’re dedicated to providing young drummers with the guidance, support, and education they need to develop their skills and grow as musicians. Through our Mentorship & Education Program, we connect aspiring drummers with experienced educators and professional musicians who can help nurture their talent, foster creativity, and build confidence.
Who Can Apply?
Our mentorship and educational support is available to:
Young drummers (ages 8-18) who are passionate about learning
Musicians who may not have access to formal music education
Individuals committed to improving their drumming skills and working hard to achieve their goals
What We Offer
Mentorship – One-on-one mentorship from professional drummers and music educators.
Workshops & Masterclasses – Educational opportunities where young drummers can learn advanced techniques, music theory, performance skills, and more.
Group Lessons – Virtual and in-person group sessions that foster collaboration, teamwork, and rhythm development.
Performance Opportunities – Access to local or virtual performances where drummers can showcase their talents and gain valuable stage experience.
How to Apply

Provide a Recommendation – Ask a teacher, mentor, or guardian to submit a recommendation to help us understand your commitment and potential.
Review & Pairing – Our team will review applications and pair you with an appropriate mentor or educational opportunity based on your needs and goals.
Equipment
We believe that every child with a passion for drumming deserves access to quality instruments. If you or a young drummer you know needs support, we’re here to help. Through our Instrument Grant Program, we provide drums, percussion equipment, and accessories to aspiring musicians who may not have the resources to purchase their own.
Who Can Apply?
Our program is open to young drummers who:
Show a strong interest in music and drumming
Demonstrate financial need
Are committed to learning and growing as musicians
What We Provide
Depending on availability and need, we offer:
Drum sets (acoustic & electronic)
Practice pads & sticks
Cymbals, hardware, and percussion accessories
How to Apply
Complete the Application – Fill out our online form with details about the drummer’s passion, needs, and background.
Provide a Recommendation – A teacher, mentor, or guardian may be asked to submit a short statement of support.
Review & Approval – Our team will review applications and match recipients with available equipment.

Experiences
We believe that the best way for young drummers to grow is by gaining real-world experience. Our Experiences & Performance Opportunities Program is designed to provide aspiring drummers with the chance to perform, collaborate, and learn from seasoned musicians and industry professionals. These experiences help build confidence, hone skills, and inspire future growth.

Our performance opportunities are open to:
Young drummers with a passion for performing and sharing their music
Musicians who are looking to gain experience on stage or in group settings
Individuals who are eager to collaborate with other musicians and expand their horizons
What We Offer
Live Performances – Opportunities to perform at local events, festivals, and concerts, gaining exposure and experience in front of an audience.
Collaborative Projects – Work with other musicians on group performances or special projects that showcase your unique sound and style.
Masterclasses & Jam Sessions – Participate in interactive jam sessions with professional musicians, where you can learn, practice, and collaborate in a supportive environment.
Recording Sessions – Gain hands-on experience in a recording studio, working with producers and musicians to record your music and develop your craft.
